I am going on a Target run this week, unsupervised. Jerrad is going to drop me off, and leave me there to my own devices. That is the magic of Birthday Month! I have been thinking about the trip for MONTHS! It sounds ridiculous that Target is a treat, but it is! See, as a stay-at-home wife, I do just that! I stay home! I sleep in, get up and drink coffee, maybe read, maybe do some housework. But I very rarely leave. And I’m not complaining! As I said yesterday, I love staying home. It is my favorite place to be. And I love that, when there IS an errand to run, Jerrad and I do it together. It makes even the simplest of errands an adventure! It also makes the rare times that I do something on my own, like a Target Birthday Run, even more special. So, what am I after? Obviously, Target will tell me what I really need, ‘They’re more like guidelines, than actual rules!’ (Verbinski, Gore. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Buena Vista Pictures, 2003.) But I did make a list!
Books! Obviously, I need books. When I was initially planning this trip, Target was having a sale on books. But some things happened, and I didn’t get to go. That’s okay, because Birthday Month! Birthday Month makes everything OK! More expensive, but OK! I have actually been really impressed with the book selection at both Walmart and Target recently. I’ve never really thought of either of them as a place to look for books, but I was wrong. I’m excited to see what they have to offer this month!
Clearance clothes! I am on a mission to update my wardrobe. I think I’m ready to graduate out of t-shirts and jeans, but I’m not sure what exactly I want my style to be. I’ve also decided that this is the summer I start wearing shorts again. I’m body conscious, and shorts haven’t really been in my wardrobe for a very long time. But this is the summer that I change that! I’m also after a black tank top. I love wearing loose, flowy shirts, but they tend to be a little more low hanging than what I prefer.
I have decided to actually start a small skincare regimen. It is very small! I just want to add a moisturizer with SPF to the ‘regimen’ that currently exists. I just figure, this close to 40, it can only help. Right? I have no idea what brands are better than others, so any advice would be appreciated. I have REALLY good skin! I have never had issues with breakouts, so my skin isn’t at all oily. It’s just…really good skin! I’m also on the hunt for a new body spray/perfume. Bath and Body Works had the BEST scent way back when. It was called Black Raspberry Vanilla, and it was DIVINE! But, of course, they discontinued it and I haven’t fallen in love with a body spray/perfume scent since. That’s it. Those are the big things that I am after. Other than that, to paraphrase Jiminy Cricket, ‘Just let Target be your guide!’ (Grant, Campbell, 1909-1992. Walt Disney’s Pinocchio. New York :Simon and Schuster, 1948.)
