The OKs of May 18th

So, the big realization today is that Jerrad and I will celebrate three years of marriage in just four months. Crazy! Time flies so fast when you’re married. It crawled when I was single. I told Jerrad that I didn’t want to have kids because they will make time go by even faster, and I can’t handle that. Joking, obviously. That isn’t why we aren’t having natural children. That is another topic for another day. So, what is the topic for this day?

Firstly, I was a brave 36-year-old, and got my eyebrows waxed for the first time. It was time. I was growing bushes on my face. Very unattractive, and impossible to maintain. But, now I have made a high maintenance commitment, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I have always been anti high maintenance commitments, as far as personal care goes. I don’t wear makeup of any kind, I get my haircut once every 12-18 months, and my skin care routine is a bar of soap in the shower every few days. So, why the eyebrows? Because I felt like it. Because I was tired of the cow lick. Because it is Birthday Month, so it is the one time of the year when I am open to new things. We’ll see if I stick with this one. The cow lick might come back. Maybe it will be trending by then!

Secondly, restaurant birthday rewards are the best! I got a giant sub from Jersey Mike’s for free! Our fridge is full, which meant that I only had to prep a few things this morning, instead of 5-6 different meals for the week. It really helped my stress level. I ‘made’ (I took them out of the freezer and distributed them into baggies) doughnuts and bacon for Jerrad for breakfast, and then I made him non-dairy chicken alfredo with Daiya Vegan alfredo, chicken brats from Costco, and a bag of steamed broccoli. Is it the best ingredients? Probably not, but my husband loves it, and that is what I care about right now.

Jerrad and I went Doordashing tonight. Well, he doordashed. I was the perfectly perfect passenger princess! It was fun! We listened to an episode of The Dishin’ Nutrition Podcast, and talked. Being in the car together is one of our favorite things! It is the perfect place to get deep (that’s what she said). Nothing tops that! (Also, what she said).
