The OKs of Surveys

Hello! It’s a new day! Yesterday, we left off at me being a stay-at-home, work hating wife, with a middle class bougie lifestyle, and not knowing what to do about it. As we all know, in Bidenmerica, everything costs way more than it has any right to cost. Being a single income family, even with no kids (although our fur baby certainly acts like a kid), it is difficult to make all of the ends meet. The other difficulty is that my husband is a spender. If he sees it, he wants it. There is no reason for delayed gratification in his world. I, on the other hand, am a saver. I like knowing that, if something happens, I have money saved to fall back on. I also have no desire to be trendy. Goodwill and Aldi supply all of my needs, and I am okay with that. Still, there is definitely a part of me that wants to be the wife that goes to Starbucks and Target once a week. I would love to go full on girl math, and let Barnes and Noble tell me what I need. So, how can I make that lifestyle happen, while still paying all of the bills? That is the adventure that we are about to embark on together.

And so, we begin. On May 1st, 2024, I will begin this adventure with Survey Junkie and Survey World. Both of these online companies give monetary rewards for taking surveys. These rewards come in the form of gift cards, deposits, etc. So, I want to compare and see which one gives more bang for the buck. I will spend 20 minutes a day on each one for 31 days, and then report back on the results. Now, to be fully transparent, I have been using Survey Junkie for a few months, and I just started with Survey World. But I will be cashing out for Birthday Month, and so will have a clean slate. Neither one of these companies sponsor this post, or this experiment, but it would be nice if they did! #futuregoals I will also be honest, and say that I have high hopes for this becoming a profit earning blog. We’re not there yet, but it is a hope. And hope is what Birthday Month is built on! Hope, and lots of Chipotle (also, not a sponsor). If you have ideas on side hustles, or strong, negative opinions on my strong opinions, you can email me at akmccoy5@gmail.com. I have a folder for both-inbox, and trash, respectively.

As I stated yesterday, I will be using a criteria list to do a fair comparison of the two companies.

  1. How easy is it to complete surveys?
  2. Which one gives more points?
  3. Which one has better options for cashing out?

I may come up with more criteria along the way, but I think that this is a good starting place. Since there are SO MANY side hustle options, I will be looking into other things for the coming months, but this will be the main focus for the month of May. This, and posting to my blog every day for 31 days. Because there will still be a lot of celebrating happening, and I wouldn’t want any of you to miss out!
